Doctor Starts using PodMed EMR and Upgrades to PM Software
Dr. Alan Bass started using PodMed EMR in 2006. He travels to many nursing homes to see his patients and uses PodMed’s ‘Offline Mode’ when brining his laptop to the nursing homes. Dr. Bass has spent a small amount of time modifying his template and loves how easily it can be done in the software.
Dr. Bass has since upgraded from PodMed EMR to PM – Leum Software’s Practice Management Software that incorporates Billing, Charting, Scheduling, and Inventory into one piece of software. “I used to have separate EMR and billing systems. I used to have to put data into 2 different systems,” said Alan Bass, DPM. “Now that I have converted to the PodMed PM system, I spend less time in front of the computer, and less time dealing with insurance companies.” Dr. Bass finds customer service representatives to be “top-notch” and says they are “responsive to my calls and my needs”.
“Moving to PodMed was the best move I could make. The EMR is easy to use, the billing system is first rate, and most important, the customer service is the best. They are always making the system better. They really care about the doctors and their staff. I would highly recommend this system to anyone starting out or looking to convert from another system.”

Practice Administrator surprised by painless transition from MediNotes and WISDOM
Kristie
Moore has been in the medical industry for 12 years and she said, “the
implementation of the software [PodMed] was the easiest I have ever seen”. She
couldn’t believe that with one click of the mouse button, all of her MediNotes
data was transferred to PodMed, “just like that”. Kristie is the practice
administrator for the office of Paul Brooks, DPM. They switched from using
WISDOM software and McKesson as their clearinghouse. They now use PodMed PM
Software and Gateway EDI for their clearinghouse. Kristie says “it took about 4
weeks to begin seeing the claims, but it was well worth the wait”, when asked
about the transition. “Just recently, without any solicitation on my part,
Gateway emailed me a form to add an insurance company [that] we didn’t sign up
with. They are really on the ball!”
Kristie states that some of her favorite features in PodMed are “the scanning capability, integrated time clock, and the great reporting functions”. For their practice, PodMed has made a great difference in both time and money saved. Kristie states that their “doctor (Dr. Brooks, pictured right) is done with notes by the end of clinic each day, enabling him to see more patients in less time which makes us more money!” Kristie also says that they “no longer have to buy expensive charting supplies and we are saving on paper because we can scan in patient information.”
